BornPretty review: Solid tips transparent gel - White Christmas pattern on dark chrome blue

Today I present you Solid tips transparent gel, that I got from BornPretty for my honest review :-)

You can find it on Born Pretty website with this name: Solid Nail Tips Gel Transparent Function Gel 5g, item ID: 53465.

This transparent gel comes in a 5ml jar, it is made of healthy, non poisonous, environmental friendly materials, it is quick-drying with UV light and it's very easy to use :-)

This is the procedure how to use it correctly:

1. clean your cuticles and file your nails using gentle nail file, just like before any other UV gel manicure
2. apply a thin layer of base UV gel coat (I used BP UV gel base coat polish), cure it for 2 minutes under the UV light
3. choose the right size of the nail tip that suits the size of your natural nail (it must't be neither too big, nor too small) and file the internal part of the nail tip, only the part that will adhere to your natural nail
4. pick up a small amount of solid tips transparent gel, apply it on the internal part of the nail tip; do not use your fingers to do it because the possible grease and the dust on your fingers could reduce the viscosity of the gel, use a steel pusher instead
5. press the nail tip on your nail, check if the gel spreaded equally on the surface of your natural nail and clean the small traces of gel if it accidentally came out; all the gel should stay in between your natural nail and the nail tip
6. cure it for 2 minutes under the UV light
7. cut off the excess nail tip with a clipper, file the nail tip to achieve your desired shape and length
8. apply the nail polish that you prefer and finish the manicure adding some glitter, stamping, or maybe making some free hand nail art, it's up to you and to your fantasy! :-)

I have to admit that when I chose the products for my BornPretty sample parcel I asked this product erroneously, I thought that it was another kind of UV gel, and my BornPretty contact Emily was very kind to send me also nail tips, so that I could conclude this gel and nail tips experiment.

I never use nail tips to extend my nails, but now I saw it as a challenge for me, to try something new! :-)

My "problem" was that the solid tips transparent gel was very thick, maybe because it's winter and the gel tends to become hard if the external temperature is low... I soaked the jar in warm water for 15 minutes and the gel returned to its natural viscosity. So, this is one of the "tips" that could be useful if you decide to use this gel.

When it comes to the procedure, another advice would be to pay attention not to skip the preparation of your nail tips, you definitely need to file the internal side of the tip, so that the gel could adhere to it :-)

For my manicure I used:
BP white stamping polish
Kiko 3 in 1 Shine fortifying fast dry base/top coat

So here is my manicure, White Christmas pattern on dark chrome blue, I hope you like it! :-)
