NYC Strip Me Off

I'm sure that a lot of bloggers adore glitter nail polishes and I'm sure that a lot of them also hate the fact that they are much more difficult to remove than a normal nail polish, removing glitter nail polishes sometimes could be a nightmare... :-)

Of course, there is always the "soaking system" of removing a glitter nail polish: you put the pieces of cotton pads soaked in acetone and then "wrap" the fingertips (nail+cotton pad with acetone) with aluminium foil; after 5 minutes (or a little bit more) you unwrap the whole thing and you get rid of glitter nail polish.
Yes, surely it's easier than struggling with rubbing your poor nails with cotton pad and acetone like crazy until the glitter gets off, but maybe this system is not so "friendly" to the skin...

So, I was happy to find the product that I would like to present to you today! It is NYC Strip Me Off base coat and it's a very good solution for glitter nail polishes problem :-) I started using some time ago and not only as a base for glitter nail polishes :-)

This base coat (esentially latex) comes in a normal bottle with a normal small brush and it applies like a normal nail polish. All you need is to apply one generous coat of NYC Strip Me Off base coat on your nails, wait until it dries (it becomes transparent when dry) and paint your nails with glitter nail polish or any other special effect nail polish of your choice. Removing your glitter nail polish manicure is very easy - you just need to peel it off together with your glitter nail polish:-)

So, this product has a lot of benefits: it's easy to use, it smoothes the imperfections of your nails and protects your nails, it's easy to peel off, provides instant removal without using acetone and it's perfect for girls who like to change their manicures every day :-) Also, it has a very "pocket-friendly" price :-)

Latex is soft, even when dry, so it could happen that your polish starts to peel off from the tip if you use your nails a lot, but this is something that I read somewhere and I can't confirm from my personal experience.. I am one of those girls who like to change their manicure every day and I haven't tested NYC Strip Me Off more than one day... :-)

NYC Strip Me Off is also an excellent product for all those girls that love stamping. I use it before stamping to protect the skin around my nails, so after stamping the cleaning up is much more easier! :-) I hate cleaning up so this product is perfect for me...! :-)

Today I would like to show you how NYC Strip Me Off works as a base for glitter nail polish and in one of my next posts I will show to you also how I use it during stamping :-)

I love it and I can highly recommend it! :-)

  1. I only tried one of this type of peel off base coats, and I didn't like it. Also I'm afraid it in the long run will hurt the natural nail.
But it sounds like this one is really super, and in latex - different that others!

    1. I tried it once on my nails and I tried it 4-5 times to protect the skin around my nails during stamping and I didn't have any problem :-)

Evo, pogledaj ovde sta The Nailasaurus misli o NYC Strip Me Off base coat-u http://www.thenailasaurus.com/2014/12/budget-peel-off-base-coat-review.html

  5. I love the magic of a good glitter-off 'polish' :) hehehe
It makes life so much easier! I've never tried a latex based one, I have the one that's sort of like diluted glue and it works perfectly!

    1. I'm not a big fan of glitter nail polishes, especially when the pieces of glitter are big, but I like this one :-) And, yes, also a real diluted glue is OK if it works and if it doesn't damage your nails :-)

  6. I just use normal glue, but not when I go out! Not sure if you remember the story I shared on my blog a long time ago, but I used glue base and glitter polish for work, and a whole thing came off!!! and then one of my colleagues taped 'the nail' to my machine so "I don't lose it"... sheesh... how embarassing!! so maybe I'll give this one a shot, but only on a weekend when I'm not working!! LOL =))))
