Asa No Ha pattern manicure

Yes, I feel a little bit guilty, I admit that lately I've shown you mostly stamping manicures... But you can't blame me too much for this because I think that all of the stamping plates that I got are amazing, full of beautiful patterns, I really want to try all of them! :-) And, this is some kind of "challenge", I challenged myself to start stamping more and improve my stamping skills :-) At the beginning it was not so easy and I know that there are so many things I still have to learn, but the most important thing is that I'm enjoying that challenge and I enjoy stamping! :-)

But, when it comes to nail art, free-hand nail art is still my biggest love, so today I would like to show you one of my free-hand nail art manicures that I liked very much and I was very happy how it came out! :-) I hope you like it too! :-)

The Asa No Ha pattern is one of the most popular traditional patterns often seen on Japanese kimono. Its meaning is: Asa = hemp, No = of, Ha = leaf. The regular geometric patter, though abstract, represents overlapping hemp leaves.

  1. It's silly to feel guilty - that only results in stress and unhappiness.
So son't feel bad if you do not all the time show your freehand nail art, sometimes you just need a break and personally I suddenly discovered that you CAN be happy with just a pretty polish LOL

    1. Well, maybe "guilty" was not the right word, but you understood what I wanted to say :-) I'm having fun with stamping plates and the "full immersion" in stamping is something I wanted to challenge myself and improve my stamping skills :-)
And, I know that you can be happy with just a pretty polish (and mostly your polishes are gorgeous, not pretty!), but I miss your nail art! :-)

    2. I like that "Full immersion" too - that also happens to me...
Someone close to me - a blogger - said something hurtful about my nail art, and I guess she was able to close me down. I think I'll eventually get back on track, I have a few nail art posts lines up for later use...
But thank you for missing it, it makes me happy!

    3. I don't dislike negative comments, but I don't like when people are rude and they try to tell me what to do...
Sometimes some kind of negative comments "open my eyes" on something I haven't seen until then and I think about how to "improve" my skills to make a better manicure.
Sometimes they just show that the person that comments has a different taste than me, but it doesn't mean that she is right and I'm wrong or vice versa, it means just that we are different and it's OK.
But, there is a huge difference in the way of how those persons comment, so I pay attention to this.
I'm perfectly calm if the person comments something like "I don't like this kind of colour... it's not my kind of colour, but it looks good on you...", for me this means to have a different taste, just this. But, if the person comments something like "How could you do this... or do that... (like it's a sacrilege)" or "It's awful..." that is the kind of negative comment that I don't like.
If I spent some time to make a manicure and if I published it, it means that I considered that it's "worth to be shown" to other people and it means that I like it. Of course that I accept suggestions to change the combinations of colour or to change some details to improve it and sometimes I like the ideas of the people who comment. But I don't accept those comments when people are convinced that they are absolutely right and I'm absolutely wrong, or when they tell me that something that I made is awful when it obviously isn't (if they really really really don't like something, I think they could also choose not to comment it... )
I don't like when people tell me what I should do with things that are mine... and I particularly don't like if they choose also the wrong way to tell that to me... Then I am ready also to reply in a "tougher" mode :-)
And, if some kind of "rough exchange of opinions" should happen I wouldn't cancel them from my blog, I think also these comments are useful to make people understand my opinions and my ideas :-)

    4. I think that you should do what you like, make your nail art just like you like it, and also on Chanel polishes if you feel to do it :-) You are the first person that should enjoy the things you do, you are doing it first of all for your joy and then also for your followers and readers :-)
If you decide to come "back on track" I will be happy because I like your nail art, and I'm sure there are really a lot of your followers that think like me :-) So, make yourself happy and make us happy with your nail art! :-)

    5. Thanks for your long reply :)
It was not A specific nail art of mine, it was that nail art in general is childish.
It was the same friend who told me that a group of German women hated me for painting nail art on Chanel - so there you go, it triggered it, and I cannot help it, but hurtful remarks from people close to me always have a very strong impact on me.
For me it's simple: either you like nail art and/or a specific nail art - or you don't, and there is such a thing as being to honest when you clearly see that the person posting it likes it. I NEVER suggest details in someone else's nail art to be changed, why should I stick my nose in that? The artist gave it thoughts: what colors, brushes and possible rhinestones, studs etc. to choose, so why would I say that another color and maybe no studs would be prettier?
Of course if the person is struggling with something, I make a kind remark if I can, that could be a way too thick acrylic color or something like that.
I also am perfectly OK with readers telling me they dislike a color - that's only natural - and I never had a rude comment on that - or anything else for that matter.
I might - might not go back to nail art - no matter what only time will show, because I cannot force myself to do it... But it still feels good that at least one out there misses it!!

  2. I love your free hand nail art, but the stamped nails are all special too!
This one is an amazing one, again. Love the accent nail. I have this pattern too, but mine never comes out so neat. I have to practice more!
